The first clinic on the Gold Coast to legally provide medicinal cannabis for patients suffering from a chronic condition has opened in the Gold Coast, Queensland.
CDA Clinics can apply to the Department of Health to prescribe medical cannabis to patients if our doctors determine that cannabis is right for their condition. Our doctors require a referral and health summary from your regular doctor. Your regular doctor doesn’t need to endorse or agree with medical cannabis. Your doctor is only validating your symptoms and referring you to a cannabis specialist like they would refer you to any other specialist. Your doctor may not know anything about cannabis science and this is why he needs to refer you to a specialist. Your doctor has a duty of care and must refer you to any specialist or treatment that you would like to try.
